vetbed or pet fleece

Beatrix Potter

Mama Doe
I want to get something to put in the wendyhouse I've got for my rabbits. vetbed seems quite pricey but a few people have mentioned a cheap pet fleece in wilkinsons. I looked at one today in there for £4.99 but its just a normal fleece blanklet. Is this the one? Only vetbed mentions things like if it gets wet it doesn't soak through etc so wondered if I was better off getting that. my bunny is littertrained but my new one isn't!

I think it depends on personal preference really (which is no answer at all).

My lot have fleece blankets or vetbed depending on how I feel, what's clean and the weather! Both are easy to wash but vetbed doesn't seem to get as wet if they wee on it and it's a bit harder for them to throw around.

However, I find fleece blankets are quite useful for making bolsters to keep the chill off in winter (particularly if they refuse to sleep in the nice warm bed under their shelf) and they're easier to find in shops.

I can't remember who it was but they bought the stuff from wilknsons for about £2.50 a mat, it must be different to the fleecy thing. They were definitely more like mats than blankets. I think it was Elve come to think of it :D

ELVE!!!! Where are you???!!! Your pet fleece expertise are needed!

I asked the very same question and decided to buy the Wilkinson one

I have it in all areas of their hutch apart from their dark side where they do their business. I have found it really good and the bunnies love it too. It washes well, dries quickly and keeps it shape after washing.

I got that stuff as well - but I got it from 'in stores', although actually my vet bed that I got from ebay wasn't that much more expensive.:D

Thanks for the link, what I was looking at was just a normal fleece blanklet. Looks like I need to order this from wilkinsonplus.

ta!

I bought both the fleece from Wilkinsons, and the profleece (vet bed), and there is no comparison.
The Wilkinson one is very thin, whereas the profleece vet bed is sumptious! It's really plush and dense, and so warm, so ideal for my outdoor bunnies.

If anyone is buying profleece, and is buying more than one piece take a look at this site as they do free delivery - I bought 2 pieces and that worked out slightly cheaper than ebay :D http://www.thedoginn.com/acatalog/Pupps_ProFleece_Dog_Mats.html
