Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

What to do about Caramel?

I have to wait a further 9 days now (and counting).. to see if the buns have escaped Myxi. Caramel has gone from living in a trio to being alone and is a very depressed bunny. I really don't want anymore bunnies as I plan to give up when I no longer have any. However I cannot stand to see her like this and the vet said yesterday that I should get her a companion. I cannot put her with Lily and Sandy as Lily absolutely despises her. Any ideas?

Oh dear

Can you take Caramel indoors so that she has company? If not it sounds like it's either get another bunny or, perhaps, let her go to someone who is looking for another bun. It's heartbreaking isn't it?

Hope you ca make her a happy bun again

She is quite a destructive little monster so free range would be out of the question, and I don't really have anywhere to set up a large indoor area for her. I can't let her go to anyone else as she came to me from a lady who had to move to India and she broke her heart and I made a promise. I don't wanna make her sad but at the same time I don't really feel like I should take on any more rabbits as I seem so rubbish at it!

What sort of area would I need inside do you think? She is a large bun. I just don't think I have the space anywhere to accomodate enough space for her. Whenever I have had house buns before they have been free range (within reason). Unfortunately little miss here, cannot be trusted.
