Scan X rays?

I have my buns head Xray at the moment as I had to take it to different branch of vets. Could I scan it into my computer without affecting the quality of original Xray, so I can keep a copy?
 
I don't know whether the light from the scanner would harm the film but it probably isn't worth the risk ... could you not take a photo of it? maybe put it against something white, or even a window and then take a photo?
 
Thanks, that is what I thought. Good idea to try and take photo, I'll try it. Got to drop them back in to vets tomorrow but I guess I can always ask to see them again if we need to compare.
