  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Flopsy's not eating...

I got home from taking Billy and Emily to the vets to find Flopsy huddled in a corner of the crate:roll:

I checked her bottom and there's a tiny bit of soft poo but no evidence of any soft poo in the litter trays.

She's thumping like mad if I go near her.

If she's going into stasis, I don't know what could has caused it.

Well, I'm going to phone the vets.....

Is she annoyed about the others going to the vets, or can't she see them? You probably smell of vets too, so that might make her thump? She sounds more like something has frightened or stung her than anything stasis related :?

I had a similar scare last night, i rubbed Daisy's belly gently and kept her moving and it helped - she turned out to be ok but i had the emergency vet on standby - she pooped after about half an hour - if she hadn't would have taken her to vet.

Yes, vet is good idea - good luck and let us know how you get on - sending poo vibes her way x

Her and Moonshine are in the same room as Billy and Emily but they don't live together.

I've just been and fed her some dandelion leaves, which she ate. But I've seen no evidence of poo yet, and Flopsy's a lot bigger than Moonshine so I can always tell who's poo is who's:lol:

I'm just keeping an eye on her for now and I can always nip her to the vets later if needs be.

She's eating and pooing now, maybe she just had a spot of tummy ache or like Elve suggested had been fightened or I smelled of the vets.
