Hi!

Sorry another question!!

Stu is booked in for his Myxi jab on Saturday morning (I would have had this done sooner but he has had snuffles so needed to make sure he was fiting fit and healthy)!
I have been told he will have one now and one in two weeks time, does this include VHD?? Also are there any side effects i should watch for?

Any info would be mich appreciated :D

Thanks

Abbie

Yes, that's right, they do the Mxyi and 2 weeks later the VHD. I was told this is because it is unsure whether there are any strange side affects if they are done at the same time.

I was told they can be a little lethargic for 24hrs afterwards, and a possible slight temperature. There can also be a bump where the injection was. I personally don't know of any other possible side effects.

Make sure they are eating and pooing and they should be fine :D

Thanks!! :D I know it's daft but i feel really nervous!! it's silly as i have horses and they all have their jabs every year! It's just rabbits seem so delicate!

I forgot to say in my other post how gorgeous Bobbin is!

I've honestly never noticed any of my buns flinch or similar when they have their jabs. Don't think they know all that much about the actual injection (tho may not like being at the vets!). Lots of strokes, cuddles and gentle words will help no end, I'm sure x

Well, kirsty had her first myxi jab yesterday, and she's turned into loopylop! No sign of feeling worse for wear whatsoever, in fact it's the opposite!!! But maybe she's just happy she is finally being acknowledged as a girl! ;)

My buns just don't trust me for a few hours and have little hissy fits when I come check they're ok. After they've stopped being little divas they act as if nothing's happened with a big "yea, what of it" look on each of their little furry faces.

From reading previous posts on here, I think it's quite common for bunnies to feel a bit rough for a day or so after their VHD jab. Muppet certainly was, but he was eating and poo-ing fine. He didnt seem to have any problems with the myxi one though - mind you, he's getting a second one tomorrow so fingers crossed.

I was really nervous too but as you say its coz they are more delicate. Sammy got his jab and he was fine, didnt flinch at all but Leon wasnt happy about his jab but thats mainly bacause he doesnt like being held in one place or held at all for that matter.

My bunnies never had side affects but Leon wouldnt talk to us for a couple of hours.
